It's wild we didn't hear about this during the Xbox Games Showcase, but Halo Infinite's multiplayer is going free-to-play!
Games as a service is a relatively new idea that we are seeing a lot of developers grab onto. It seems that the story mode for Halo Infinite will be either bought or given access through Game Pass, but the multiplayer is now confirmed to be free for everyone. That's fucking huge. With this, you can expect lots of new updates to the game kinda like Destiny. And a lot is resting on the back of Halo's multiplayer, so it looks as though they are heading in the right direction to make it very accessible.
Along with this news, Halo's twitter account also confirmed 120 frames-per-second on the Xbox Series X for all you frame-nerds out there. That's really boasting the power of the Xbox Series X but might also explain the (in some opinions) lower-grade graphics. Just like the upgraded consoles now, I'm sure you can prioritize power over visuals, or vice versa.
