For many months, Nintendo has been having leaks drop left and right with only "grains of salt" supporting them. Almost all of them have come true, and this particular leak is no different: Super Mario 3D All-Stars is coming! A collection of the classic Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy are releasing on Switch this month in a limited run. If you've been following gaming news for the last few months, you would know this collection of classic 3D Mario games has been rumored heavily. So this game isn't included in the "surprises" I was alluding to. Though I am in love with the idea of playing Super Mario 64 on my Switch and play Sunshine for the first time (don't judge me), there were two things that caught my attention the most.
Remember Tetris 99, a Tetris game were you play against ninety-eight others online trying to be the last person standing whilst trying to sabotage your competitors? Mario sure remembers and he seemed to get quite a bit of inspiration from it, giving us Super Mario Bros 35. This I did not expect; a platforming battle royale letting you face off against thirty-four people, all within the original Super Mario Bros game from the NES. Like Tetris 99, you'll be trying to sabotage the others to come out on top. Every enemy you destroy gets sent to a random person in your lobby's game. An interesting take on the classic game, but will it get boring playing the first level over and over again? We shall see when Super Mario Bros 35 releases for free later this year on a limited run starting October 1st and ending on March 31st next year.
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is an augmented-reality remote-controlled kart-racing game staring the birthday boy himself, Mario! It's unclear how the bundling works, but an RC Mario Kart is coming in just a few short weeks, hopefully bundled with the archways and a brand new Mario Kart game. The RC karts are equipped with a camera on top of each kart, sending you a live feed of all the gaming magic straight to your Switch, where you control them remotely. Home Circuit is an amazing combination of toys and gaming that only Nintendo can give us. The Kart RCs, tracks, and game will be releasing October 16th this year. I'm extremely excited about this one, but my cats most likely won't be...
