Ooblets is in Early Access!

Ooblets is game all about farming small little creatures and then using them to fight to the death in a very gruesome fashion.. Just kidding, they actually just have dance battles -- and it's pretty adorable.

We will break down this game into three categories: What is it? Gameplay? How to get the game?

What is Ooblets?

Ooblets is heavily inspired by games like Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, and Pokemon, but it also completely holds its own against those games. It's a super fun & quirky farming card game. You plant seeds of Ooblets, water them daily until they burst into a cute little creature, then use those critters to have dance battles with other townsfolk and get more Ooblet seeds to plant! Not only is there farming and dance battles, but there is also tons of customization of your character, Ooblet's outfits, and even your home! So I guess it's a bit of Sims thrown in there as well.

Gameplay?

Like I said, it's a farming card game. You farm your critters and then use those fellas in dance battles. The battles are turn-based with you and your opponent having a hand full of cards (dance moves) that you can play to get your applause meter all the way up to win! Cards use a type of energy and some can add energy, give you an assortment of different applause numbers, and even increase a multiplier of those applause numbers so your cards become stronger with every turn -- if you play your cards right. Of course, there is still more to the game than just battling. Farming and collecting are key to the gameplay! Also, don't forget to dress up those little fellas.

How to get the game?

Currently there are only two ways to play: Xbox One or Epic Game Store. Ooblets, as of July 15th, 2020, is released to the Microsoft Store for Xbox One and on the Epic Game Store for PC in Early Access. Meaning the game isn't finished and is still in active development. Currently there is a maximum of around 40 hours of gameplay here for a discounted price of $19.99. That price might not stay that low upon full release in the next year or so, so you should grab it now! You won't be disappointed. Side note, if you are playing on Xbox One, you get a free 60 minute trial of the game before you buy!
